4. Insect Planet (Shooter 3D)
"Insect Planet: The Quest for the Queen" - First-Person Shooter 3D (FPS)
"Insect Planet" transports players to a hostile and dark world, infested with a variety of giant insects and alien creatures. In the role of a white capsule-shaped pill, players embark on a mission to find the Queen of the Insects and put an end to her threat. The planet is a labyrinth of deadly challenges, where finding keys to open doors is essential for progress.
Your Mission: Find the hidden portal that leads to the queen and eliminate her!
Game Mechanics:
- WASD Movement: Players use the WASD keys to navigate the desolate environment of the insect-infested planet.
- Space Jump: To avoid obstacles and tackle rough terrain, players can jump using the space bar.
- Weapon Switching: To defend against the dangers of the planet, players can switch between different weapons using the mouse scroll or by pressing the numeric keys 1, 2, or 3.
- Key Collection and Door Opening: Finding keys scattered throughout the map is crucial for opening locked doors and accessing new areas of the planet.
- Exploration and Discovery: Players are encouraged to explore every corner of the planet, uncovering hidden secrets, useful items, and thrilling challenges.
"Why on earth is the player a white pill?"
a) Well, just imagine: we're in the middle of a planet infested with giant insects, and... ta-da! Our hero emerges, a giant pill ready to save the day! It's like the universe saying, 'Hey, we've got a little problem here, but don't worry, we've brought the right dose of relief!'
b) Oh, this one's a gem! Picture this: you're there, in the midst of an alien landscape that's as hostile as can be, and who shows up to save the day? A pill! It's like the writer was messing around, like: 'Let's make this game even crazier, let's throw in a hero who's a giant pill, just to see what happens!'
Or...
c) The student was so caught up in the game's setting that they completely forgot about the player! Who needs a character when you've got such an amazing setting, right?

This is my first 3D shooter game project, created during the game design specialization course at Michigan State University (Professor Brian Winn).
This project is simple and shy, being just an introduction to Unity3D. I'm progressing with the course, and upon completion, I'll return to this project and further develop it, adding finishing touches and fixing any bugs. It's quite raw at the moment, but it serves to showcase my progress in such a short time.
I developed more solid knowledge in: 3D Animation, physics and Colliders, enemy movement intelligence, checkpoints, door and key system, power-ups, UI, debugging extensive code, lighting, skybox editor, Terrain, navMesh, Events, creating level portals, weapon change system, TextMeshPro.
